I have been scouring through my waiver wires to stash players that I think will be relevant come next season. If I don't have the space on my roster I mark them for the draft, but in my deep roster leagues I will clear out some junk and add some new faces.
Here are the WR's I am grabbing or marking for later round picks in next years draft:
Anthony Gonzalez: He was a major disappointment last year and is on many waiver wire's right now. I could see dropping a guy like Torry Holt and snagging Gonzo as I think he has more talent than Austin Collie.
Earl Bennett: Crazy story, this kid is only 22 years old, which I don't think many people realize. Mike Martz is going to allow him to start and the offense will be little more high flying with Martz calling some shots. I would stash Bennett for sure as most owners have forgotten about him. (check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-2yd_EPqB8)
James Jones: For all that is good in the world, Donald Driver please retire (that rhymes), I love this stash for the huge upside this guy has if Driver retires. He has the ability to be a starting WR in an offense that would utilize him.
Mike Thomas: Bye bye Torry, hello Mikey, this guy looks and feels like another Steve Smith from the Panthers. Do yourself a favor and stash him for 2010 as his role is going to increase for sure.
Early Doucet: I wrote about him in my previous article, but Bolin is going to the Ravens/Dolphins (most likely), and Doucet is a starting caliber WR. Let's just hope Matt Leinart can step up (Warner doesn't think Leinart will, but Doucet is still a stash).
Good luck this off-season!
