2013 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Week 13

Jeff Hanisch - USA Today Sports
Check the waiver wire, but shouldn't be there...

Bobby Rainey (RB, TB) - Rainey should not be on the waiver wire, but if your league is asleep at the wheel then make sure to grab Rainey.

Jay Cutler (QB, CHI) - Josh McCown has been so solid in Cutler's absence, but once Cutler is back he will be the starter and could be someone you turn to during your play-off run.
Must Grab

Cordarrelle Patterson (WR, MIN) - now is the time to grab Patterson if he is available.  He is not a weekly starter by any means, but by play-off time he may be usable.  Stash him.

Dennis Johnson (RB, HOU) - with Foster done for the year and Tate taking most of the carries, it was a matter of time before Johnson was given a chance.  He should be stashed on benches; if Tate were to ever miss a game Johnson would be given a huge workload.

Nate Burleson (WR, DET) - he is back from his broken arm that he had in his car wreck.  If you are in a PPR league Burleson finds a way to be consistent.  Not a bad pick-up.

CJ Anderson/Montee Ball (RB, DEN) - Moreno was spotted on crutches so who knows what his status for next week looks like.  If he is a no go then Ball and Anderson will pick up the load.  Most likely Ball is not available, but he would be the first choice then a close second is Anderson because Ball has fumble issues.

Grab

Justin Hunter (WR, TEN) - he is becoming more and more trusted in the Titan's offense.  He is worth picking up now to build your bench.

Miles Austin (WR, DAL) - was on the field a ton for his first week back, but didn't quite produce.  He will do better with every passing week, but still boom/bust potential here weekly.

Benny Cunningham (RB, StL) - if Stacy misses a game due to concussion then Cunningham can be considered as a start, but his upside could be capped due to splitting some carries with Pead.  His upside is one of the best for RB's if Stacy misses next week.

Kenbrell Thompkins/Julian Edelman (WR, NE) - Aaron Dobson did not see much of the field on Sunday night.  Thompkins and especially Edelman was targeted in the come-back win.  Edelman is a better pick-up than Thompkins, but you really have to temper expectations weekly.

Dennis Pitta (TE, BAL) - should be back for fantasy play-offs and should be stashed now if you are in need of a back-up TE.

Mike Glennon (WR, TB) - Glennon is potentially still on your waiver wire, but he can be a back-up QB or used in two QB leagues.

Josh McCown (QB, CHI) - started McCown during bye week for one of my leagues this week and was glad I did.  McCown has been putting up usable fantasy numbers and remains a sneaky start as long a Cutler stays out.

Ace Sanders (WR, JAX) - Mike Brown was out so Sanders was able to step in.  It's rare that a short WR really breaks out not named Steve Smith.  He is a tough starter, but has upside if Mike Brown misses more time.

Tim Wright (TE, TB) - Glennon looked Wright's way a ton, but Wright still remains a boom or bust every week.

Jacoby Jones (WR, BAL) - had a solid game this week, but will be a boom or bust on a weekly basis.

Matt Flynn (QB, GB) - hopefully Rodgers will be back soon, but Flynn actually looked usable this weekend and can be considered for deep 2 QB leagues.

Tiquan Underwood (WR, TB) - had a wonderful game but too much of a risk to consider starting.

Chris Ogbonnaya/Fozzy Whittaker (RB, CLE) - spoke about them last week, the issue is this is a RBBC situation.  Ogbonnaya has some upside in PPR leagues.

Watch

Andre Holmes (WR, OAK) - if Streater and Moore are out next week the 6'4" Holmes will be the primary target in Oakland.  He is sneaky for super deep leagues.

Brandon Bolden (RB, NE) - this really depends on what happens to Blount and Ridley.  Bolden has talent but any RB in NE offense is one fumble away from getting benched.  NE RB's are tough to start unless it's Ridley.

Jared Cook (TE, StL) - he just hasn't been consistent enough to trust him to start.  He is worth monitoring.

Ronnie Brown (RB, SD) - if Mathews were to miss any time, then Brown could be a sneaky start in deep leagues.
